The Lovers

The Lovers – not about romance, but about a choice between two paths where giving up one is inevitable. This is the arcana of honesty with oneself: what I truly want.

Attempt not to choose: a person keeps both options open and hands the decision to another, then lives with someone else’s choice.

An arcana by itself is not a verdict nor a characteristic: it answers the question of the position it occupies. The same arcana in the centre and in the relationships area indicates different things — in the centre about what the person returns to, in relationships about how they approach. Therefore, reading the matrix starts with the question of the position, not with the name of the arcana.
