The Emperor

The Emperor – about structure and boundaries: rules that hold, and responsibility for one's territory. This is the arcana of stability that arises not on its own, but through an established order.

Control for its own sake and rigidity where flexibility is needed. Rules are followed even when they have lost meaning.

An arcana by itself is not a verdict nor a characteristic: it answers the question of the position it occupies. The same arcana in the centre and in the relationships area indicates different things — in the centre about what the person returns to, in relationships about how they approach. Therefore, reading the matrix starts with the question of the position, not with the name of the arcana.
