Conjunction

Conjunction – planets are at the same degree, and their themes work as one. It is the strongest aspect and the hardest to separate: it is almost impossible for a person to feel where one theme ends and the other begins. A conjunction is not inherently good or bad – it depends on what is conjunct.

Look at which planets are conjunct and in which house: the house theme receives both planets at once. A conjunction with the Sun or Moon is the most noticeable, as it colours the core of the personality. Splitting such themes is helped by observation rather than analysis: a journal is more useful than theory here.

An aspect is rarely exact to the minute. The orb is the allowable deviation from the exact angle at which the aspect is still considered active. An angle of 88 degrees with an orb of 7 is a square with a 2‑degree deviation, and the smaller the deviation, the stronger the aspect manifests.

An aspect is called applying if the deviation from the exact angle is decreasing, and separating if it is increasing. The platform checks this by shifting the calculation forward by 0.2 days. An applying aspect is still gaining strength, a separating one has already completed its effect.
